OU MBB SCHEDULE PREVIEW UPDATE2

Men's Basketball

OAKWOOD MEN'S BASKETBALL EMBARKS ON DIFFICULT 2024-2025 SCHEDULE

Simon Jacob knows how to put together a difficult schedule.

All you have to do is look at Oakwood University's men's basketball schedule this season.

The Ambassadors play defending National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national champion Freed-Hardeman. They also play home and home games against Tennessee Southern, Faulkner University, Dalton State and Washington Adventist.

If that's not enough, Oakwood also plays exhibition games against Alabama A&M, Mississippi Valley State and Shorter University.

All of that happens before the Ambassadors open HBCUAC play.

"I believe in playing a tough schedule," Jacob said. "We've done that down through the years. Even before we moved up to NAIA, we had success against upper tier NAIA programs because those are the teams we played.

"I know we've struggled the last two years, but hopefully, this year will be different. We believe the size and increased talent we've brought in will translate into wins."

Oakwood opens the season tonight at Freed-Hardeman. The Ambassadors' home opener is Saturday Nov. 2 against Washington Adventist.
