OAKWOOD BASKETBALL POSTSEASON PREVIEW

2/24/2026 5:51:00 AM

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The 2025-2026 season has been a struggle for Oakwood University men's basketball.

The Ambassadors entered the season with high expectations, but unfortunately, coach Simon Jacob's team hasn't been able to fulfill them.

Oakwood enters the 2026 Hope Credit Union HBCU Athletic Conference Championship 9-17 overall and 4-8 in league play. Despite that, Jacob remains optimistic about his team's chances to advance in the tournament.

"We've got as much talent as anybody in the league," said Jacob, whose team hasn't won back-to-back games all season and is 3-4 in its last seven games entering the postseason. "We've just got to put our differences aside and play for each other. If we can do that, I like our chances."

The Ambassadors, the No. 6 seed in the East, will play Wiley (1-20), the No. 7 seed in the West, Tuesday at 5 p.m. inside Birthright Hall at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa. The winner will play Dillard Wednesday at 8 p.m.
