FOUR PACE OAKWOOD IN HOME LOSS TO DALTON STATE

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University had four players in double figures Tuesday night, but it wasn't enough as No. 11 Dalton State scored early and often and went on to down the Ambassadors 94-78 in a non-conference game inside Ashby Auditorium.

Oakwood fell to 3-22 on the season with the loss. The Roadrunners improved to 21-4.

Dalton State built a commanding 48-31 lead at intermission and wasn't threatened the rest of the way.

Jordan Green led the way for the Ambassadors with 16 points.

He was 6-of-10 from the field, including 1-of-4 from 3-point range, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Green also had four rebounds, two steals and one assist.

Jamarkus Alexander scored 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. He also had four assists, two steals and one rebound.

Damon Fann finished with 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. He also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Jordan Bell scored 10 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Oakwood shot 38.1 percent (32-of-84) from the field, including 30.4 percent (7-of-23) from 3-point range, and 70 percent (7-of-10) from the free throw line.

Matt Compas scored 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting to lead the way for Dalton State. Antonio Lewis finished with 18.

The Roadrunners shot 53.3 percent (40-of-75) from the field, including 29.4 percent (5-of-17) from beyond the arc, and 100 percent (9-of-9) from the charity stripe.

Dalton State won the game in the paint, outscoring Oakwood 64-40.
