THREE AMBASSADORS FINISH IN DOUBLE FIGURES AS OAKWOOD FALLS TO DILLARD

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Three players finished in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Oakwood University fell 85-76 to Dillard University Saturday night in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game at Dent Gymnasium.

The Ambassadors fell to 1-23 overall and 1-14 in league play with the loss. The Bleu Devils improved to 12-14 and 8-11.

Oakwood fell behind early and trailed 53-28 at halftime. The Ambassadors outscored the Bleu Devils 48-32 in the second half, but the outcome was never in doubt.

Judelin Prophete and Carson Badgett led Oakwood with 13 points each.

Prophete also had nine rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Badgett had five rebounds and one assist.

Khari Person finished with 10 points, two rebounds and a steal.

The Ambassadors shot 45.9 percent (28-of-61) from the field, including 35.3 percent (6-of-17) from 3-point range, and 77.8 percent (14-of-18) from the free throw line.

Tory Cargo led four Dillard players in double figures with 15 points. Justin Warren, Tyrus Crawford and Jamey Sanders finished with 14, 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Bleu Devils shot 50 percent (35-of-70) from the field, including 35.7 percent (10-of-28) from beyond the arc, and 50 percent (5-of-10) from the charity stripe.

Oakwood visits Talladega College Tuesday night at 6 in a GCAC game.
