OAKWOOD WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RELEASES 2024-2025 SCHEDULE

Huntsville, Ala. – Oakwood University women's basketball put together a record-breaking season a year ago.

Ronnie Abrams' team won a program-record 10 games and advanced to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time in school history.

The bulk of that team is gone, including All-GCAC first-team guard Nekaya Williams, who transferred to Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Fla.

Despite only five returners and 11 newcomers, Abrams put together yet another difficult schedule for the Ambassadors.

"We have the toughest schedule in the conference," said Abrams, entering his second season. "Not only do we play some quality Division I schools, we play some of the best NAIA schools in the country."

The GCAC is now the HBCUAC and in addition to a daunting league slate, Oakwood also plays NAIA powers Tennessee Southern, Faulkner, Blue Mountain College and Washington Adventist along with Shorter University, an NCAA Division II program.

The Ambassadors also play exhibition games at Alabama A&M and Troy.

Oakwood opens its 24-game schedule at Tennessee Southern next Tuesday night. The Ambassadors' home opener is Saturday Nov. 2 against Washington Adventist.
