OAKWOOD PICKED TO FINISH LAST IN HBCUAC 2026 PRESEASON BASEBALL POLL

NEW ORLEANS – Oakwood University was picked to finish last in the 2026 HBCU Athletic Conference preseason baseball poll league officials announced Friday.
 
The Ambassadors were picked to finish 12th and managed just 17 points.
 
Oakwood finished 2-40 last season, including 2-27 in league play.
 
Stanley Stubbs was recently hired to take over the baseball program.
 
Talladega College was picked to win the HBCUAC championship, finishing with 141 points, including nine first-place votes.
 
Wiley University was picked to finish second, followed by Southern University of New Orleans, Stillman College and Huston-Tillotson rounded out the top five.
 
Talladega's Armando Jackson was named the preseason Player of the Year, while Talladega's Diego Duque was named the preseason Pitcher of the Year.
