BRADLEY, MACK SHINE FOR OAKWOOD IN LOSS TO TENNESSEE SOUTHERN

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Landon Bradley and Joshua Mack had two hits apiece, but Tennessee Southern erupted for seven runs in the top of the fifth inning and went on to beat Oakwood University 16-8 Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference game at John Hunt Park.
 
The Ambassadors fell to 3-23 with the loss, while the Firehawks improved to 20-14.
 
Oakwood trailed 5-4 through four innings, but the Firehawks scored seven runs in the top of the fifth to take a 12-4 advantage.
 
The Ambassadors battled back, pushing across four runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull within 12-8, but couldn't get any closer.
 
Landon Bradley doubled to score Jaylan Sharpe to pull Oakwood within 12-5 in the bottom of the sixth. Jordan Jennings scored on a fielder's choice by Mack to make it 12-6 and Bradley and Mack scored on errors later in the inning to pull the Ambassadors within 12-8.
 
Unfortunately, the Firehawks pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh inning to extend their lead to 15-8 and the outcome was never in doubt.
 
Bradley was 2-for-3 with a double, scored a run and had an RBI.
 
Mack was 2-for-3 with two RBI and scored a run.
 
Jennings, Jayden Coleman, Green, Edmondson and Sharpe had one hit apiece.
 
Coleman (0-2) took the loss, allowing 11 runs, all earned, on eight hits in 4.2 innings. He walked seven and struck out four.
