HBCUAC WBB CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 UPDATE

OAKWOOD WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WILL TAKE ON TALLADEGA COLLEGE THURSDAY IN HBCUAC CHAMPIONSHIP

NEW ORLEANS – Oakwood University (10-14, 8-10) will take on Talladega College (9-12, 9-9) Thursday at noon in the opening round of the HBCUAC 2025 Hope Credit Union Basketball Championship at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa.

The Ambassadors enter as the No. 9 seed, while the Tornadoes are the No. 8 seed.

The two teams split during the regular season with Talladega College winning 72-59 in Huntsville on Feb. 1, while Oakwood won 64-55 in Talladega on Feb. 18.

The championship starts Tuesday with No. 4 seed Philander Smith taking on No. 13 Virgin Islands at noon. The other women's game that day has No. 5 seed Fisk University taking on No. 12 seed Voorhees University at 4 p.m.

On Wednesday, No. 6 seed Wiley University takes on No. 11 seed Wilberforce University at noon. The other game that day has No. 7 seed Rust College taking on No. 10 seed Southern University of New Orleans at 6 p.m.

In addition to Oakwood and Talladega College on Thursday, the Philander Smith/Virgin Islands winner will take on the Fisk/Voorhees winner at 4 p.m.

On Friday, No. 3 seed Tougaloo College takes on the Wiley/Wilberforce winner at 10 a.m. No. 2 Dillard will play the Rust/SUNO winner at 2 p.m. and No. 1 seed Stillman College will take on the Oakwood/Talladega College winner at 6 p.m.

The semifinals are March 1 with the championship game set for March 2 at 4 p.m.
