OAKWOOD RELEASES 2025 BASEBALL SCHEDULE

AMBASSADORS HOST BRESCIA UNIVERSITY TODAY AT 11 A.M.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University released its 2025 baseball schedule today and first-year head coach jalil Rudolph said it is just as difficult as the last two years.

The Ambassadors will play 46 games, including 30 HBCU Athletic Conference contests, during the season that stretches from January to April. Oakwood struggled mightily the last two seasons since bringing baseball back, but Rudolph believes the Ambassadors will be vastly improved this season.

"I like our team," said Rudolph, who was promoted after Richard Hodnett stepped down after last season. "Defensively, we should be a lot better and offensively, I think we've got some people that can swing it. If we can round out our pitching staff, I like our chances."

Oakwood opens the season today at home against Brescia University in a doubleheader at John Hunt Park. First pitch is set for 11 a.m. All home games will be played at John Hunt Park.

Oakwood will also play nonconference series against Florida National, Southeastern Baptist, Tennessee Southern, the United States Sports Academy and LeMoyne-Owen College.

Talladega College was picked to win the HBCUAC Championship, while Wiley College was picked to finish second.

Oakwood was picked to finish last.

"That motivated our guys," Rudolph said. "Our goal is to make the tournament."

The top eight teams qualify for the tournament.
