OAKWOOD WILL TAKE ON TALLAGEGA COLLEGE WEDNESDAY IN GCAC BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

JACKSON, Miss. – Oakwood University will take on Talladega College Wednesday night at Smith-Wills Stadium in the opening round of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference 2024 Hope Credit Union Baseball Championship.

The first pitch is slated for 7:30.

The Ambassadors enter the double-elimination tournament as the No. 7 seed. Oakwood finished the regular season 2-33 overall and 2-19 in league play.

The Tornadoes, the No. 2 seed, finished 32-15 overall and 17-3 in league play.

Wiley College, the No. 1 seed, will take on No. 8 Philander Smith Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., followed by No. 3 Dillard and No. 6 Tougaloo at 4 p.m.

The tournament gets underway Wednesday with No. 4 Southern University of New Orleans taking on No. 5 seed Rust College at 9 a.m.

Tickets for the championship and tournament information are available online at the Baseball Championship Tournament Central. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate. General admission is $10 per person.
