OAKWOOD LOOKS TO SNAP TWO-GAME LOSING STREAK TONIGHT AT TALLADEGA

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Oakwood University women's basketball, coming off back-to-back narrow losses to Fisk University and Stillman College, will try to snap its two-game losing streak tonight when it visits Talladega College in an important Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game. Tipoff is set for 6 at the Dr. Billy C. Hawkins Student Activity Center.

The Ambassadors enter the game 6-14 overall and 4-7 in league play. The Tornados are 6-14 and 3-6.

Oakwood dominated Talladega two months ago at home.

The Ambassadors posted season highs in field goal percentage (51.1) and 3-point field goal percentage (60.9) in beating the Tornados 71-46. Oakwood was 24-of-47 from the field and 14-of-23 from beyond the arc.

Trenisha Adams led the way with 23 points, while Nekaya Williams, Denaj'za Jackson and Hannah Cohn finished with 13, 12 and 10 points, respectively. Combined, they were 19-of-32 from the field, including 14-of-20 from 3-point range. Adams had seven of
them.

Williams, who has averaged 26.5 points while shooting 51.6 percent, including 52.6 from deep over the last two games, leads Oakwood in scoring (14.4), rebounding (6.3), assists (66) and minutes (34.8).

Adams is averaging 13 points and 5.1 rebounds. She leads the team with 53 3-pointers and is shooting 36.8 percent from deep. She also has a team-high 29 steals.

Talladega is led by guard Arieonna Booker, who leads the Tornados in scoring (10.8), assists (49) and steals (49).
