OAKWOOD IN NEW ORLEANS TO FACE SUNO AND DILLARD

NEW ORLEANS, La. – After a rough outing Monday night at Rust College, the Oakwood University women's basketball team will try to get back in the win column tonight when it visits Southern University of New Orleans in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game. Tipoff is 5.
 
Oakwood enters the contest 7-16 overall and 5-9 in league play. SUNO is 2-21 and 2-13.
 
The Ambassadors downed the Knights 61-45 back on Jan. 11 at Ashby Auditorium as Trenisha Adams, Jon'Toyrian McNeal and Nekaya Williams combined for 41 points and 29 rebounds.
 
Adams had one of her best all-around games of the season, shooting 7-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range, to go along with seven rebounds, six assists and a steal.
 
McNeal, who is questionable with an ankle injury, had 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Williams finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Williams leads Oakwood in scoring (14.1), rebounding (6.0) and assists (69). Adams is averaging 13.7 points and 4.8 rebounds and leads the team in 3-pointers (65) and steals (35). Adams is shooting a team-high 38.2 percent from beyond the arc.
SUNO will counter with Jordan Harris and McKenna Harris.
 
Jordan is averaging 17.5 points per game and had 22 of the Knights' 45 points in the first meeting. McKenna is averaging 10 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
 
After tonight's game, Oakwood visits Dillard University (12-11, 11-5) Saturday night at 6.
 
The Bleu Devils won the first meeting 69-61 as Cassidy Lowe, Sydni John-Baptist and Jordyn Rowe combined for 52 points.
 
Rowe is averaging 12 points per game, while Lowe is averaging 11.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
