FIVE AMBASSADORS RECORD HITS, BUT OAKWOOD FALLS TO MONTREAT COLLEGE

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Five different Oakwood University players recorded hits Sunday, but the Ambassadors fell to Montreat College 9-3 and 4-1 in a doubleheader at John Hunt Park.
 
The loss dropped Oakwood to 0-4 on the season. Montreat College improved to 5-3.
 
Game 1
 
Akari David led the way for the Ambassadors, going 1-for-3 and scored two runs. Herb Collins had a hit and an RBI, while Jayden Rolling went 1-for-2 and scored a run.
 
Eli Kennedy (0-1) took the loss, allowing seven runs, five earned on five hits in 5.0 innings. He walked three.
 
Game 2
 
Caleb Edmondson and Jaylan Sharpe had a hit each and Treyvon Jones had an RBI in the nightcap for Oakwood.
 
Carson Nelms (0-1) took the loss, allowing four runs, two earned on three hits in 5.1 innings. He walked two and struck out one.
 
Oakwood host LeMoyne-Owen College Tuesday. The doubleheader begins at 12 p.m. at John Hunt Park.
