ADAMS, KEYS COMBINE TO SCORE 50 POINTS TO POWER OAKWOOD PAST WILBERFORCE

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Trenisha Adams and Saniya Keys combined for 50 points Thursday night to power Oakwood University to a dominating 85-56 victory over Wilberforce University in an HBCU Athletic Conference women's basketball game inside Ashby Auditorium.
 
The Ambassadors improved to 12-6 overall and 8-1 in league play. The Bulldogs fell to 3-11 and 2-6. Wilberforce fell to 0-9 on the road.
 
Adams, one of the leading candidates for HBCUAC Player of the Year honors, finished with 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 8-of-12 from 3-point range, and made her lone free throw.
 
She also had five assists and two steals.
 
Keys, the reigning HBCUAC Player of the Year, bounced back from one of the worst games of her career in Tuesday's road loss at Stillman College when she was 0-of-13 from the field and managed just one point, scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line, and six rebounds.
 
The Ambassadors shot 52.6 percent (30-of-57) from the field, including 47.8 percent (11-of-23) from 3-point range, and 70 percent (14-of-20) from the free throw line.
 
Makyla Tucker for Wilberforce with 14 points, while Laniya Early finished with 11.
 
The Bulldogs shot 35.7 percent (20-of-56) from the field, including 24 percent (6-of-25) from beyond the arc, and 45.5 percent (10-of-22) from the charity stripe.
 
Oakwood is at Rust College next Thursday.
