ARNETT, MORROW AND JOHNSON SHINE AGAINST LANE COLLEGE

JACKSON, Tenn. – Sydney Arnett and Jana Morrow had three hits apiece and Katie Johnson had two, but it wasn't enough as Lane College swept Oakwood College 4-0 and 7-6 Monday afternoon.
 
The Ambassadors fell to 9-20 on the season, while the Dragons improved to 25-9.
 
Game 1
 
Oakwood managed just five hits in the opener and spoiled a solid outing by Arnett.
 
Arnett, Morrow, Johnson, Ashlyn Hallman and Taytum Lowe each had a hit.
 
Arnett (8-8) took the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits in six innings of work. She walked three and struck out six.
 
Game 2
 
Morrow, Arnett and Taylor Mancone combined for six hits, two runs and five RBI in the nightcap, but Lane hung on to complete the sweep.
 
The Dragons led 7-3 through four innings, but the Ambassadors rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh, but couldn't push the tying across to force extra innings.
 
Arnett was 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Mancone was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Morrow was 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
 
Johnson, Alexis Copeland and TiAnna Lawrence had one hit apiece. Johnson and Lawrence scored a run each, while Copeland had an RBI. Kaley Fuller went 0-for-2, but scored two runs.
 
Hallman (0-5) took the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits in three innings of work. She walked five and struck out one.
