TENNESSEE SOUTHERN SWEEPS OAKWOOD

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A day after battering Voorhees University, Oakwood University ran into a buzzsaw Monday afternoon as the University of Tennessee Southern came away with 10-0 and 11-1 victories at Ambassador Field.
 
Oakwood fell to 11-23 on the season.
 
Game 1
 
Katie Johnson had two of Oakwood's five hits in the opener. Taylor Mancone, Ashlyn Hallman and Anna Jones had one hit apiece. Mancone and Sydney Arnett accounted for the Ambassadors' two runs.
 
Arnett (10-13) took the loss, allowing nine runs on nine hits in four innings. She walked three and struck out six.
 
Game 2
 
Taylor Lawrence, Jana Morrow and Taytum Lowe accounted for Oakwood's three hits in the nightcap.
 
Arnett (10-14) took the loss, allowing 11 runs on 14 hits in five innings. She walked three and struck out two.
 
Oakwood is back in action Friday at Faulker University in Montgomery. The doubleheader is set for 1 p.m.
