BRENT JR. SOLID BUT TOUGALOO RUNS BY OAKWOOD

JACKSON, Miss. – Anthony Brent Jr. had two hits and four other players had one each, but Tougaloo College combined to score 15 runs in the third and fourth innings and went on to beat Oakwood University 21-3 Monday afternoon in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game.
 
The loss dropped the Ambassadors to 2-27 overall and 2-13 in league play. The Bulldogs improved to 11-27 and 7-8.
 
Brent Jr was 2-for-3, while Dylan Grigorius, Tedrus Hamilton, Chris Aguilar and Ahmad Woods had a hit apiece.
 
Hamilton, Jordan Jennings and Jeremy Matos each had an RBI. Mateo Hamm, Jorge Hernandez and Woods scored a run each.
 
Dawryn Coronado (0-3) took the loss, allowing nine runs on five hits in 2.1 innings of work. He walked four and struck out two.
 
Oakwood will host Dillard University Thursday afternoon in a GCAC doubleheader. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m. at John Hunt Park.
