HAMILTON, HAMM AND CORONADO BELT HOME RUNS BUT TALLADEGA COLLEGE SWEEPS OAKWOOD

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Tedrus Hamilton hit a pair of home runs and Mateo Hamm and Dawryn Coronado also homered, but it wasn't enough as Oakwood University was swept by Talladega College in a three-game Gulf Coast Athletic Conference series at John Hunt Park.
 
The Tornadoes downed the Ambassadors 18-2, 18-6 and 15-3.
 
Oakwood fell to 2-33 overall and 2-19 in league play, while Talladega College improved to 32-15 and 17-3.
 
Game 1
 
Chris Aguilar went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and scored a run, while Jordan Jennings went 2-for-4 in the opener to lead the Ambassadors.
 
Oakwood trailed 7-1 after two innings, but couldn't get any closer, managing just one run the rest of the way.
 
Jorge Hernandez and Erick Perez had a hit apiece for Oakwood.
 
Anthony Brent Jr (1-2) took the loss, allowing nine runs on six hits in four innings. He walked five and struck out one.
 
Game 2
 
Hamilton went 2-for-4, including a two-run homer in the sixth inning, his fourth of the season, and Hamm hit his second of the season, a two-run shot to open the third inning, to lead the Ambassadors.
 
Oakwood trailed 7-0 after two innings, but Hamm's homer helped the Ambassadors avoid the shutout.
 
Trailing 11-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Coronado's two-run homer, his first of the season, capped a three-run outburst that pulled the Ambassadors within 11-5.
 
Hamilton's solo shot in the sixth pulled Oakwood within 11-6, but Richard Hodnett's team couldn't get any closer.
 
Jenning, Jeremy Matos and Hernandez had one hit apiece. Brent Jr had an RBI.
 
Collin Mullins (0-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on two hits in 0.2 innings. He walked
one.
 
Game 3
 
Hamilton hit his fifth homer of the season and Perez went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run to lead Oakwood.
 
Aguilar finished 2-for-2, while Xavier Weldon, Ahmad Woods and Hamm had a hit apiece.
 
Dakota Cobb (0-2) took the loss, allowing nine runs on eight hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out two.
