OAKWOOD CAN'T GET UNTRACKED OFFENSIVELY AGAINST FAULKNER

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Oakwood University couldn't get its bats going Friday afternoon as Faulkner University swept a doubleheader at Wynn Field.
 
The Eagles downed the Ambassadors 3-2 and 8-0, limiting Oakwood to only five hits on the day.
 
Oakwood fell to 11-25 overall with its fourth straight loss.
 
Game 1
 
The Ambassadors ruined a great pitching performance from Sydney Arnett in the opener.
 
Arnett (10-15) allowed three runs, one earned, on four hits in six innings. She walked two and struck out nine.
 
Faulkner took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning, but Oakwood scored two runs in the top of the sixth on a two-run homer by Arnett to pull within 3-2. Arnett was 1-for-3 with a homer, two RBI and scored a run.
 
Kaley Fuller and Anna Jones accounted for the Ambassadors' other two hits.
 
The loss was Oakwood's seventh by one run this season.
 
Game 2
 
The Eagles dominated the nightcap, scoring single runs in the first three innings, and added four more in the fourth to win easily.
 
Jana Morrow and Ashlyn Hallman accounted for the Ambassadors' lone two hits. Oakwood hurt itself by committing six errors.
 
Hallman (1-7) took the loss, allowing eight runs on eight hits in 4.1 innings. She struck out one.
 
Oakwood is at Talladega College Monday.
