OAKWOOD SWEEPS RUST IN DOMINANT FASHION

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University exploded offensively and Sydney Arnett dominated on the mound as the Ambassadors blanked Rust College Friday 25-0 and 8-0 at Ambassador Field.
 
Arnett went 7-for-8 at the plate, had two RBI and scored five runs. Kaley Fuller went 5-for-8 with an RBI and scored four runs.
 
Katie Johnson went 5-for-8 with three RBI and scored five runs, while Jana Morrow went 5-for-8 with two RBI and scored three runs.
 
Alexis Copeland went 4-for-6 with two RBI and scored three runs, while Taytum Lowe went 4-for-8 with three RBI and scored three runs. Taylor Mancone went 4-for-5 with two RBI and scored four runs.
 
Morgan Arbitelle went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored two runs, while Ashlyn Hallman went 3-for-7 with an RBI and scored three runs.
 
Arnett went 2-0 on the mound, allowing six hits, no runs, two walks and struck out 15 in 11 innings of work.
 
Oakwood improved to 7-17 on the season, while Rust fell to 2-12.
 
Game 1
 
Fuller, Mancone and Arnett combined for 12 hits, scored 11 runs and had four RBI in the opener.
 
Johnson, Morrow, Lowe, Arbitelle and Copeland combined for 15 hits, scored 12 runs and had eight RBI.
 
Hallman was 2-for-5 with an RBI and scored two runs.
 
Oakwood finished with 25 runs on 29 hits.
 
Arnett allowed no runs on one hit in five innings. She walked one and struck out seven.
 
Game 2
 
Arnett, Johnson and Morrow accounted for seven hits, an RBI and scored four runs.
 
Fuller, Hallman, Lowe, Copeland and TiAnna Lawrence combined for five hits, scored four runs and had four RBI.
 
Arnett allowed no runs on five hits in six innings of work. She walked one and struck out eight.
