FAIRRIS, HAMILTON LEAD OAKWOOD IN LOSS TO PHILANDER SMITH

 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Jaylen Fairris and Tedrus Hamilton combined for seven hits, five RBI and scored four runs, but it wasn't enough as Oakwood University fell 18-12 to Philander Smith Monday at Lamar Porter Field in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game.
 
The Ambassadors fell to 2-21 overall  and 2-7 in league play.
 
Fairris was 4-for-5 with two doubles and scored a run, while Hamilton was 3-for-4 with five RBI and scored three runs.
 
Dylan Grigorius was 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and scored two runs, while Chris Aguilar was 2-for-5 with an RBI.
 
Ashton Morgan was 2-for-5, while Jordan Jennings and Mateo Hamm had one hit apiece. Jennings had a double and scored two runs, while Hamm had three RBI and scored two runs.
 
The game was tied 9-9 through six innings, but Philander Smith scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win going away.
 
Fairris (0-1) took the loss, allowing nine runs, only one earned, on four hits in two innings of work. He walked five.
