MORROW, COPELAND, ARNETT COME UP BIG AS OAKWOOD SWEEPS HORNETS

St. Louis, Mo. – Alexis Copeland and Jana Morrow had four hits apiece and Sydney Arnett was terrific in the circle as Oakwood University downed Harris-Stowe State University 14-2 and 9-4 Thursday at Hornets Field.
 
Morrow was 4-for-7 with two RBI and scored three runs, while Copeland was 4-for-8 with three RBI and scored three runs.
 
The Ambassadors improved to 5-15 overall, while the Hornets fell to 0-10.
 
Game 1
 
Katie Johnson, Kaley Fuller and Taytum Lowe had three hits apiece in the opener as Oakwood scored 14 runs on 17 hits.
 
Johnson was 3-for-4 with three RBI and scored three runs, while Fuller was 3-for-4 with two RBI and scored a run. Lowe was 3-for-3 with two RBI and scored two runs. Arnett was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Copeland was 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run.
 
Morrow, Taylor Mancone, Ashlyn Hallman and Anna Jones also had hits in the opener.
 
Arnett (4-7) got the win, allowed two runs on two hits in five innings of work. She didn't walk a batter and struck out six.
 
Game 2
 
Morrow was 3-for-4 with two RBI and scored two runs, while Hallman was 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored two runs and Copeland was 2-for-4 with two RBI and scored a run.
 
Mancone and Lowe also had hits in the nightcap.
 
Arnett (5-7) allowed three runs on eight hits in six innings of work to pick up the win. She struck out seven.
