MATOS LEADS OAKWOOD IN LOSS TO BLUE MOUNTAIN

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Jeremy Matos had two hits and four other players had one apiece, but Blue Mountain College scored early and often enroute to an easy 29-2 victory over Oakwood University Wednesday afternoon at John Hunt Park.

The loss dropped Oakwood to 0-20 on the season, while Blue Mountain improved to 20-7.

Matos was 2-for-3 and scored a run to lead the Ambassadors. Jordan Jennings and Ahmad Woods were 1-for-3, while Jorge Hernandez and Mateo Hamm were 1-for-4 with an RBI apiece. Matos and Jennings scored a run each for Oakwood.

Chris Aguilar (0-3) took the loss. He allowed 11 runs, 10 earned, on three hits in 1.2 innings of work. Aguilar walked five and struck out one.

Oakwood trailed 3-2 after the first inning, but Blue Mountain scored eight runs in the second inning and the outcome was never in doubt.
