HAMM, WOODS, FAIRRIS COMBINE FOR SEVEN HITS AGAINST FORT LAUDERDALE

Lauderhill, Fla. – Mateo Hamm had three hits and an RBI and Ahmad Woods and Jayden Fairris had two hits apiece, but it wasn't enough as the University of Fort Lauderdale swept a doubleheader from Oakwood University 28-5 and 10-0 Wednesday at Oakland Park/Davis Field at NorthEast High School.
 
The Ambassadors fell to 0-5 on the season, while the Eagles improved to 7-1.
 
First Game
Dakota Cobb's two-out double in the fourth inning scored Jorge Hernandez, who walked with one out, to prevent the shutout.
 
Jordan Jennings' two-out single in the sixth scored Erick Perez and Dylan Grigorius, who reached on a walk and hit by pitch earlier in the inning.
 
Hamm tripled to open the seventh and Jorge Hernandez walked. Two outs later, Cobb singled to score both of them to make it 28-5.
 
In addition to Hamm, Cobb, Woods, Fairris, Jennings and Hernandez, Perez also had a hit in the opener.
 
Chris Aguilar (0-2) took the loss, allowing 14 runs on 10 hits in three innings of work. He walked four and struck out one.
 
Second Game
Hamm, Woods, Fairris and Jayden Rolling all had a hit in the nightcap.
 
Hernandez (0-1) took the loss, allowing nine runs on two hits in four innings of work. He walked four and struck out one.
