JENNINGS, MATOS COMBINE FOR FIVE HITS AGAINST FORT LAUDERDALE

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Jordan Jennings had three hits, including two doubles, and Jeremy Matos had two hits, but it wasn't enough Thursday as the University of Fort Lauderdale downed Oakwood University 18-2 and 15-0 at Oakland Park/Davis Field at NorthEast High School.
 
The losses dropped the Ambassadors to 0-7 on the season. The Eagles improved to 9-1.
 
Game 1
Jennings went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run to lead Oakwood.
 
Matos had a hit and scored a run, while Tedrus Hamilton had a hit and two RBI.
Oakwood's two runs came in the sixth inning.
 
Jennings doubled to open the inning and Matos singled to put runners on first and third.
 
One out later, Hamilton reached on an error, allowing Jennings and Matos to score to make it 18-2.
 
Framber Rodriguez (0-1) took the loss for the Ambassaders.
 
Rodriguez allowed 18 runs, including 15 earned, on 11 hits in four innings of work. He walked seven.
 
Game 2
Jennings, Matos and Chris Aguilar had a hit apiece in the nightcap.
 
Oakwood had a couple of opportunities to score.
 
Matos doubled with one out in the first inning, but Anthony Brent, Jr. struck out and Hamilton grounded out to end the inning.
 
Jennings doubled with one out in the sixth, but Miles Jones and Brent Jr. struck out to end the inning.
 
Dakota Cobb (0-2) took the loss, allowing 14 runs on 15 hits in four innings of work. He walked two and struck out three.
