ARNETT HITS AND PITCHES OAKWOOD PAST TALLEDAGA COLLEGE

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Sydney Arnett dominated at the plate and in the circle and got plenty of help from her teammates as Oakwood University swept Talladega College 4-0 and 7-4 in a doubleheader Monday at Ambassador Field.
 
The Ambassadors improved to 3-9 on the season and have won three of their last four games after opening the season 0-8.
 
Arnett finished 3-for-5 on the day with two doubles and scored three runs. On the mound, she was 2-0 with two complete games. Arnett allowed four runs, two earned, on 16 hits and struck out 12 batters to run her record to 3-3.
 
Game 1
 
Taylor Mancone had two hits, including an RBI double, while Ashlyn Hallman went 2-for-2, including a triple and scored a run to lead Oakwood in the opener.
 
Anna Jones had a two-run single and scored a run, while Jana Morrow and Arnett had a hit and scored a run each in the first game.
 
Game 2
 
Jones went 2-for-2, including a pair of doubles, had four RBI and scored a run in the nightcap.
 
Alexis Copeland went 2-for-3 with a homer, an RBI and scored two runs, while Arnett was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and scored two runs.
 
Hallman went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI, while Taytum Lowe was 1-for-3 and scored a run. Katie Johnson had a hit and Mancone scored a run.
