Oakwood improved to 1-9 with the win, while Rust College is now 1-7. Game 1 Jana Morrow hit two home runs, including a grand slam in the second inning, and Taylor Mancone hit a three-run shot in the first inning to power the Ambassadors to a dominating 10-0 victory. Mancone's three-run homer staked Oakwood to an early 4-0 lead. Morrow's grand slam in the second inning made it 8-0 and she added a two-run shot in the fourth to make it 10-0. Sydney Arnett dominated at the plate and in the circle. She was 2-for-3 and scored a run, while tossing a one-hit shutout to pick up her first win of the season. Arnett allowed no runs on one hit in five innings. She stuck out nine and didn't walk a batter. Roniya Campbell broke up Arnett's no-hitter with a one-out double in the fifth inning, but Arnett retired to the next two batters to end the game. Morrow was 2-for-3 with two home runs, scored two runs and had six RBI. Mancone was 2-for-3 with a homer, scored a run and had three RBI. Kaley Fuller was 1-for-2, including a double, and scored two runs, while Taytum Lowe had a hit. Katie Johnson scored two runs, while Anna Jones and Alexis Copeland scored a run each. Game 2 Down 5-0, Oakwood erupted for six runs in the fifth inning and added another one in the seventh to take a 7-5 lead, but Rust hit a pair of homers in the seventh, including a two-out, walk-off in the bottom of the inning to give the Bearcats the win. Morrow was 4-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and scored two runs. Copeland went 1-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and scored a run, while Fuller, Mancone and Jones also had one hit apiece. Ashlyn Hallman (0-3) took the loss. She allowed three runs, all earned, on six hits in five innings. She struck out six and didn't walk a batter. Oakwood hosts Talladega College Monday at noon.
