ARNETT, MORROW AND MANCONE RECORD TWO HITS APIECE AGAINST BRYAN

DAYTON, Tenn. – Sydney Arnett, Jana Morrow and Taylor Mancone had two hits apiece, but Bryan College swept Oakwood University 1-0 and 7-2 in two highly competitive games Tuesday.
 
The Ambassadors fell to 0-8, while Bryan improved to 2-2.
 
Game 1
 
Arnett and Bryan's Payton Reasons were outstanding on the hill in the opener.
 
Arnett allowed one run on four hits in six innings of work, walked one and struck out five in taking the loss. She faced one batter over the minimum.
 
Arnett allowed Breanna Bumgardner's solo homer to open the fifth inning that turned out to be the difference in the game.
 
Meanwhile, Reasons allowed no runs on one hit in seven innings of work. She walked three and struck out nine.
 
Taylor Mancone managed the only hit in the opener for the Ambassadors.
 
Game 2
 
The Ambassadors pushed across single runs in the first and second inning to grab an early 2-0 lead, but Bryan erupted for six runs in the fourth enroute to the sweep.
 
Arnett and Morrow had two hits apiece, while Alexis Copeland and Mancone had one apiece.
 
Katie Johnson had an RBI, scored a run and walked, while Copeland also had an RBI.
 
Anna Jones went 0-for-2, but scored a run.
 
Arnett took the loss to fall to 0-5. She allowed seven runs, all earned, on nine hits in six innings of work. She walked one and struck out two.
 
Oakwood is at Rust College Thursday.
