OAKWOOD HOSTS WASHINGTON ADVENTIST TONIGHT IN DOUBLEHEADER

Huntsville, Ala. – The Oakwood University men's and women's basketball teams will host Washington Adventist University tonight in the home opener for both teams inside Ashby Auditorium.

The women's game tips off at 7, followed by the men's game at 9.

WAU swept both games last season, winning the women's game 76-62 and taking the men's game 71-62.

Ronnie Abrams' women's team is 0-1 after falling 94-61 at Tennessee Southern earlier this week.

Saniya Keys, a 6-foot freshman forward/center from Cottonwood, led the Ambassadors with 22 points and 17 rebounds. She was 10-of-16 from the field on the night.

Simon Jacobs' men's team is 0-1 after falling 83-53 to defending NAIA national champion Freed-Hardeman in the season opener on Oct. 24, then losing to Tennessee Southern 77-63 earlier this week.

Damon Fann, who missed the season opener, had a game-high 22 points, including five 3-pointers, in the loss to Tennessee Southern. He was 8-of-17 from the field.

Jeray Randle is averaging 15.5 points per game in the Ambassadors' first two outings.

He had 23 points, including five 3-pointers, in the loss to Freed-Hardeman. He was 8-of-15 from the field and 5-of-12 from beyond the arc.
