MONTGOMERY – Oakwood University had a season-high five hits in the nightcap, but it wasn't enough as Faulkner University swept the Ambassadors 4-0 and 8-1 on Monday at Wynn Field.
Oakwood fell to 0-6 on the season. The Eagles improved to 3-1.
The Ambassadors failed to record a hit in the opener, but bounced back strong in the second game.
Shortstop
Lessie Allison (Blountsville, AL) went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run.
Sydney Arnett (Andalusia, AL) went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while
Jana Morrow (Moody, AL) also had a hit on the day.
Arnett (0-4) took the loss in the first game. She went six innings, allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits. Arnett struck out nine and didn't walk a batter.
EmmaRay Spitzer (Holly Pond, AL) fell to 0-1 with the loss in the nightcap. She went six innings, allowing eight runs on 11 hits. Spitzer walked three and struck out three.
