HENDERSON, Tenn. – Oakwood women's basketball got off to a slow start for the second day in a row Saturday night as Freed-Hardeman scored early and often enroute to a 74-38 victory in the FHU Classic at the Brewer Sports Center.

The Lions built a 37-14 halftime lead and cruised to their seventh straight win. The Ambassadors fell behind Friday afternoon in an 83-38 loss to Bethel University.

The loss, Oakwood's third straight, dropped the Ambassadors to 2-5 on the season.

Trenisha Adams (Rome, GA) led Oakwood with 13 points. She was 5-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range. Nobody else finished in double figures for the Ambassadors.

Oakwood shot 26.1 percent (12-of-46) from the field, including 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from 3-point range, and 60 percent (9-of-15) from the free throw line.

The Ambassadors hurt themselves with 20 turnovers and their 38 points tied a season-low set in Friday's loss to Bethel University.

Alaina Stiles led Freed-Hardeman with 17 points. KJ White finished with 14.

The Lions shot 40 percent (26-of-65) from the field, including 29.6 percent (8-of-27) from 3-point range, and 70 percent (14-of-20) from the free throw line.
