OAKWOOD FALLS TO JARVIS CHRISTIAN IN HBCU WOMEN'S INVITATIONAL

DALLAS, Tx. – Four Oakwood University players finished in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Jarvis Christian came away with a 78-69 victory Friday afternoon in the HBCU Women's Invitational.

The loss dropped the Ambassadors to 1-2 on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 2-1.

RB Mitchell (Detroit, MI) led Oakwood with 17 points and 14 rebounds. She also had four assists and four steals. Nekaya Williams (Atlanta, GA) finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.

Alecia Reasor (Birmingham, AL) scored 15 points. She was 5-of-7 from the field, including 5-of-6 from the free throw line and grabbed four rebounds. Trenisha Adams (Rome, GA) finished with 13 points, including three 3-pointers. She had four rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

The Ambassadors shot 32.4 percent (25-of-77) from the field, including 11.5 percent (3-of-26) from 3-point range, and 68.2 percent (15-of-22) from the free throw line. Oakwood hurt itself with 19 turnovers.
