OAKWOOD LOSES ITS THIRD STRAIGHT GAME

LADY AMBASSADORS FALL BEHIND EARLY IN LOSS TO FREED-HARDEMAN

Box Score Oakwood University fell behind early and couldn't catch up as Freed-Hardeman came away with a 62-44 victory in the opening round of the FHU Classic Thursday night at the Brewer Sports Center in Henderson, Tenn.

The Lady Ambassadors trailed 32-15 at intermission and never threatened in the second half enroute to dropping their third straight game.

Oakwood fell to 0-3 on the season, while Freed-Hardeman improved to 1-0.

Nekaya Williams led the Lady Ambassadors with 12 points. Denajza Jackson finished with 11.

Oakwood struggled mightily from the field, shooting just 26 percent (15-of-57), including 29 percent (8-of-27) from 3-point range.

KJ White led three Freed-Hardeman players in double figures with 14 points.

Oakwood will play Stephens College out of Columbia, Mo., today at 1 p.m.
