MACK SHINES, BUT STILLMAN SWEEPS OAKWOOD IN HBCUAC DOUBLEHEADER

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Joshua Mack had two hits and five other players had one apiece, but it wasn't enough as Stillman College swept Oakwood University Sunday afternoon in HBCU Athletic Conference doubleheader at University Field.
 
The Tigers downed the Ambassadors 13-0 in the first game and 11-2 in the nightcap.
 
Oakwood fell to 1-16 overall and 0-8 in league play. Stillman improved to 10-10 and 5-2.
 
Game 1
 
Mack and Herb Collins accounted for Oakwood's two hits in the opener.
 
Stillman led 2-0 through three innings, but erupted for 11 runs over the next four innings to win going away.
 
Eli Kennedy (0-4) took the loss, allowing eight runs, all earned, on 12 hits in five innings. He walked three.
 
Game 2
 
Jordan Jennings had a hit, an RBI and scored a run, while Mack, Kennedy, Terrance Carr and Corey Levy had a hit each.
 
Oakwood trailed 10-0 midway through the fourth inning, but the Ambassadors pushed across a run in the bottom of the inning to avoid the shutout. Oakwood added another run in the bottom of the seventh.
 
Carson Nelms (0-4) took the loss, allowing 10 runs, seven earned, on nine hits in 3.1 innings. He walked five and struck out one.
