OAKWOOD FALLS TO STILLMAN DESPITE FOUR PLAYERS IN DOUBLE FIGURES

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Oakwood University had four players in double figures Tuesday night, but it wasn't enough as Stillman College emerged with a 79-65 victory in an HBCU Athletic Conference men's game inside Birthright Alumni Hall.
 
The Ambassadors trailed 37-24 at intermission and never threatened as the Tigers won going away.
 
Oakwood fell to 5-13 overall and 3-5 in league play. Stillman improved to 9-9 and 6-1.
 
Jordan Bell and Tahj Evans led the Ambassadors with 11 points apiece. Jason Griffin and Naftal Morara finished with 10 points each. Evans and Griffin had seven rebounds each.
 
Oakwood shot 44.8 percent (26-of-58) from the field, including 17.6 percent (3-of-17) from 3-point range, and 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line.
 
Brandon Howard led three Tigers in double figures with 21 points. Josh Price, a former Sparkman High standout, finished with 18 points, while Allister Dixon added 12.
 
Stillman shot 55.7 percent (34-of-61) from the field, including 50 percent (6-of-12) from beyond the arc, and 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from the charity stripe.
 
Oakwood will host Wilberforce University Thursday at 8 p.m.
