OAKWOOD WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO BLUE MOUNTAIN IN SEASON OPENER

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Amarlin Sosa had 11 saves, but it wasn't enough as the Oakwood University women's soccer team fell 8-0 Thursday afternoon to Blue Mountain College in its season opener at the BMCU Sportsplex.
 
The Ambassadors fell to 0-1, while the Toppers improved to 1-2.
 
Blue Mountain scored five goals in the first half and tacked on three more in the second half.
 
Oakwood managed just one shot on the day, while Blue Mountain finished with 33, including 19 shots on goal.
 
Callie McDonald, Cassidy Remson and Madison Stalnecker had two goals each for the Toppers.
 
Oakwood will try to pick up its first win of the season Sunday when it visits Point University.
