MAYERS' THREE GOALS HELP OAKWOOD DOMINATE TOUGALOO IN HBCUAC ACTION

HUNTSVILLE –  Reynna Mayers scored three goals and three other players also scored as Oakwood University women's soccer dominated Tougaloo College 6-0 Sunday afternoon in an HBCU Athletic Conference game at University Field.
 
The win, the Ambassadors' first of the season, lifted Oakwood to 1-5-1 on the season and 1-1-1 in league play. The Bulldogs fell to 0-6-1 and 0-2-1.
 
Hismay Camposeco scored in the 14th minute on an assist from Norma Rodriguez to give Oakwood an early 1-0 lead.
 
Rodriguez scored three minutes later on assists from Allyson Patterson and Mayers to make it 2-0 and Mayers scored the first of her three goals in the 29th minute to give the Ambassadors a 3-0 lead.
 
Mayers scored Oakwood's next goal on an assist from Kimora Jarrett to give Ambassadors a commanding 5-0 advantage and Nicevaryln Philippe added a goal in the 56th minute off of an assist from Lisa Faith to round out the scoring.
 
The Ambassadors outshot the Bulldogs 22-4, including 15-1 in shots on goal.
 
Renee Wisdom got the win in the goal, coming away with one save.
 
Oakwood is back in action Oct. 29 at Talladega College.
