MATOS, JENNINGS SHINE IN LOSS TO ALABAMA A&M

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Jeremy Matos had three hits and Jordan Jennings had two, but Oakwood University couldn't overcome an early deficit and fell to Alabama A&M 22-5 Tuesday afternoon at Bulldog Field.

The Bulldogs led 11-0 after two innings and the Ambassadors never threatened the rest of the way.

Oakwood fell to 0-19 on the season. AAMU improved to 15-15.

Matos was 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run, while Jennings was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Jorge Hernandez was 1-for-3 with two RBI, while Kyler Bradley was 1-for-2 and scored a run.

Anthony Brent Jr. and Bradley walked to open the third inning. Brent Jr stole third and came around to score on a wild pitch to put Oakwood on the board.

Jennings singled to score Bradley to pull the Ambassadors within 11-2.

Jennings singled with one out in the fifth inning and later scored on a single by Matos to make it 15-3. Hernandez's two-run single scored Matos and Joshua Mack to make it 15-5.

Eli Kennedy (0-5) took the loss, allowing seven runs, six earned, on two hits in 0.2 innings. He walked four.

Oakwood is back in action Thursday at Talladega College. The doubleheader is slated to begin at 12 p.m.
