OAKWOOD'S ARNETT NAMED HBCUAC'S SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

NEW ORLEANS – Oakwood University's Sydney Arnett was named the HBCU Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.

Arnett was honored for her performance from Feb. 17-23.

A senior from Andalusia, Ala., Arnett threw a complete game against Faulkner University on Feb. 18. She limited the Eagles to three unearned runs on six hits and struck out five which kept the Ambassadors in the game.

Arnett ranks ninth in the conference in strikeouts and fifth with 5.83 strikeouts per seven 
innings.
