MURRAY, KEYS AND ADAMS COMBINE FOR 50 POINTS AS OAKWOOD DOWNS VOORHEES IN HBCUAC ACTION

DENMARK, S.C. – Kamaria Murray, Saniya Keys and Trenisha Adams combined for 50 points Saturday night as Oakwood University built an early lead and cruised to a 67-56 victory over Voorhees University in an HBCU Athletic Conference game inside Voorhees Arena.
 
The win lifted the Ambassadors to 3-4 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Tigers fell to 3-5 and 0-2 with the loss.
 
Oakwood led 40-24 at halftime and was never headed. The Ambassadors led by as many as 24 points on Murray's layup with 8:37 left in the third period that made it 48-24.
 
Murray finished with a game-high 18 points. She was 7-of-13 from the field, including three 3-pointers, two steals and one assist.
 
Keys finished with 17 points and five rebounds on 5-of-10 shooting. She also had one assist and a steal.
 
Adams had 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists. She was 6-of-10 from the field, 3-of-6 from 3-point range and had three steals.
 
Oakwood shot 49 percent (24-of-49) from the field, including 35 percent (7-of-20) from 3-point range, and 52.2 percent (12-of-23) from the free throw line.
 
Zaniyah Shaw led Voorhees with 12 points, while Kierra Diggs finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Tigers shot 35.1 percent (20-of-57) from the field, including 26.7 percent (4-of-15) from beyond the arc, and 66.7 percent (12-of-18) from the charity stripe.
