AROH, FANN, BADGETT AND THORNTON SHINE IN LOSS TO WILEY COLLEGE

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Oakwood University had four players in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the Ambassadors fell 96-76 to Wiley College Monday afternoon in the Talladega HBCUAC POD inside the Billy Hawkins Student Activity Center.

Steven Aroh led Oakwood with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting. He also had one rebound and one assist.

Damon Fann had 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including three 3-pointers. He also had two steals.

Carson Badgett had 11 points, six rebounds and two assists, while Jaywill Thornton finished with 10 points and four rebounds.

The Ambassadors shot 40.3 percent (25-of-62) from the field, including 27.3 percent (6-of-22) from 3-point range, and 57.1 percent (20-of-35) from the free throw line.

The loss dropped Oakwood to 1-15 overall and 0-9 in league play. Wiley improved to 7-7 and 5-5.

Tavien Fisher led six Wildcats in double figures with 19 points. Demarius Pitts finished with 17, while Raymond Guillory added 13 and Taj Toney had 12. Shamir Mosley and Jalen Bates had 11 and 10, respectively.

Wiley shot 53.4 percent (31-of-58) from the field, including 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from beyond the arc, and 78.8 percent (26-of-33) from the charity stripe.

Oakwood will try to snap its 10-game losing streak Thursday at Fisk. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
