OAKWOOD RELEASES 2025 SCHEDULE

HARRIS SAYS IT IS THE MOST GRUELING IN SCHOOL HISTORY

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University released its 2025 softball schedule today and head coach Bob Harris said it is the most grueling in school history.

The Ambassadors will play 47 games, including 19 HBCU Athletic Conference contests, during the season that stretches from February through late April. This season softball is an HBCUAC championship sport and Harris and company believe Oakwood will be in the thick of it.

"We plan to be there at the end," Harris said. "This is our third year and we've been building toward this."

Oakwood opens the season at home against Bryan College in a doubleheader on Feb. 10. All home games will be played on campus at University Field.

The Ambassadors wrap up the season at the HBCUAC Championship, beginning April 25 at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur.

Oakwood will play home and home nonconference series against Georgia Gwinnett College, Faulkner University, Tennessee Southern and Campbellsville University. Georgia Gwinnett is ranked No. 9 in the NAIA preseason poll and has reached the NAIA World Series each of the last two seasons.

Campbellsville University and HBCUAC member Stillman College received votes in the preseason poll, while Faulkner and Tennessee Southern have quality programs, Harris said.

"We expect to be very competitive," he said. "I will be disappointed if we're not. Defensively, we should be as good as we've been since we started our program back three years ago."
