OAKWOOD WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO POINT UNIVERSITY

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University women's soccer, with just nine players, fell behind early and never recovered Thursday afternoon as Point University came away with a 7-0 victory at University Field.
 
The Skyhawks built a 6-0 lead at intermission and were never headed in handing the Ambassadors their first loss of the season.
 
Oakwood fell to 0-1 on the season. Point improved to 3-2-2.
 
Oakwood managed just one shot on the day, including no shots on goal. Meanwhile, Point finished with 43 shots, including 20 on goal.
 
Oakwood goalkeeper Amerlin Sosa finished with 13 saves, but gave up seven goals.
 
Naomi Tilley scored three goals to lead the Skyhawks, while four other players managed one goal each.
 
Oakwood is back in action Sunday at 1 p.m. at Talladega College.
