SENIOR NIGHT - OAKWOOD WILL HONOR PROPHETE AND WILLIAMS TONIGHT

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University will honor its two seniors tonight when the Ambassadors host Tougaloo College in their final home game of the regular season at Ashby Auditorium. Tipoff is 8.

Judelin Prophete (Miami, FL) and Brian Williams (Colquitt, GA) will be recognized for their contributions to the program prior to the game.

The Ambassadors enter the game 1-25 overall and 1-16 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs enter the game 22-5 and tied for first place in the league at 14-3 alongside Philander Smith.

While Oakwood has struggled mightily this season, Prophete and Williams have been solid.

Prophete leads the team in virtually every statistical category, including minutes (31.3), scoring (11.9), rebounding (7.3), assists (39), steals (23) and blocks (62).

Williams, who averages almost 23 minutes per game, is third in scoring (7.5) and assists (22), second in rebounding (3.6), assists (22) and blocks (13) and fifth in steals (13).

"Not only have those two guys been solid players, they've also been solid citizens and students," Oakwood coach Simon Jacob said. "They epitomize what it means to be an Oakwood University student-athlete. We're proud of what they have brought to our program and hopefully we can send them out with a win tonight."

In the first meeting on Nov. 30 at Tougaloo in the GCAC opener for both teams, Williams had arguably his best game of the season.

He finished with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range, and 2-of-3 from the free throw line. Williams also had three rebounds, one steal and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Prophete struggled, managing just six points on 3-of-13 shooting, nine rebounds, two steals and four blocks.

Tougaloo won the game 75-57 and got a whopping 50 points from its bench, while Oakwood managed just eight.
