PROPHETE, WILLIAMS WILL MISS OAKWOOD'S NEXT TWO GAMES

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Oakwood University will be without two of its top players tonight and Wednesday in a pair of big Gulf Coast Athletic Conference games.

Seniors Judelin Prophete and Brian Williams will miss tonight's game at Talladega College and Wednesday's home game against Rust College.

Prophete, who leads the Ambassadors in scoring (11.7), rebounding (7.3), assists (39), steals (23) and blocks (62), is in New York visiting potential law schools, coach Simon Jacob said. Meanwhile, Williams took a hit above his eye against Southern University of New Orleans and had to have stitches and won't be available. Williams, who missed Saturday's game at Dillard University, is fourth on the team in scoring (7.5) and steals (13), second in rebounding (3.6) and blocks (13) and third in assists (22).

Carson Badgett will start in place of Prophete, while Khari Person will replace Williams in the starting lineup.

Badgett had 13 points, five rebounds and one assist in Saturday's 85-76 loss at Dillard, while Person finished with 10 points, two rebounds and one assist.

Talladega College downed Oakwood 63-36 at home back on Dec. 2. The 36 points are a season-low for the Ambassadors. Prophete had 12 points in the first meeting, while the rest of the team combined for 24.

Oakwood is 1-23 overall and 1-14 in league play. The Ambassadors have lost 12 straight games. Talladega College is 19-6 and 8-4. Tipoff is 6 at the Hawkins Student Activity Center.
