RANDALL JR., PROPHETE FINISH IN DOUBLE FIGURES IN LOSS TO RUST COLLEGE

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – Jeray Randall Jr. scored 14 points and Judelin Prophete posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Rust College ran past Oakwood University 76-60 Monday night in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game inside Kinzell Lawson Gymnasium.

The loss, Oakwood's 10^th straight, dropped the Ambassadors to 1-21 overall and 1-12 in league play. The Bearcats improved to 9-13 and 6-9.

Randall Jr. was 6-of-8 from the field, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. He also grabbed five rebounds and had one assist and one steal.

In addition to his 10 points and 10 rebounds, Prophete had two assists, two blocks and three steals.

Oakwood shot 40.7 percent (24-of-59) from the field, including 30.4 percent (7-of-23) from 3-point range, and 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from the free throw line.

Khalil Brown led Rust College with a game-high 20 points. Christopher Hood added 12.

The Bearcats shot 49.2 percent (29-of-59) from the field, including 38.5 percent (5-of-13) from deep, and 65 percent (13-of-20) from the charity stripe.

Oakwood visits Southern University of New Orleans Thursday at 7 p.m. in a GCAC game.
