BELL'S CAREER-HIGH LEADS OAKWOOD IN LOSS TO FAULKNER

MONTGOMERY – Jordan Bell scored a career-high 26 points and two other players finished in double figures, but Oakwood University couldn't overcome a poor first half as Faulkner University came away with an 82-65 non-conference victory Saturday night inside Tine W. Davis Gymnasium.

The loss, Oakwood's fifth straight, dropped the Ambassadors to 1-7 on the season. Faulkner stayed perfect at 8-0.

Bell was 11-of-15 from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, and made his only free throw. He also had two assists and four blocks in 29 minutes.

Chase Jackson finished with 12 points, including two 3-pointers, four rebounds and five assists, while Jeray Randall had 10 points, including two 3-pointers, five rebounds, one assist and two steals.

The Ambassadors shot 42.6 percent (26-of-61) from the field, including 30.8 percent (8-of-26) from 3-point range, and 50 percent (5-of-10) from the free throw line.

Jordan Johnson and KJ Rogers led Faulkner with 19 points each. Gabriel Rivera and Maliek Sadler finished with 16 and 14, respectively.

The Eagles shot 46.7 percent (28-of-60) from the field, including 37 percent (10-of-27) from beyond the arc, and 88.9 percent (16-of-18) from the charity stripe.

Oakwood is off until Dec. 2 when it visits Mississippi Valley State in an exhibition game.
