OAKWOOD VISITS RUST COLLEGE TONIGHT IN HBCUAC DOUBLEHEADER

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – Oakwood University will visit Rust College tonight in an HBCU Athletic Conference doubleheader.

The women's game will tip off at 6, followed by the men's game.

Women's Preview

The Ambassadors will try to snap their two-game losing streak when they take on the Bearcats.

Oakwood enters the game 1-3 overall and 0-1 in league play. Rust is 1-5 and 0-1 and
has lost four straight games, including its last three by a combined nine points.

Saniya Keys and Trenisha Adams have been the Ambassadors' top two players so far this season.

Keys, a freshman forward/center, is averaging 22.3 points and 14 rebounds per game, while shooting almost 52 percent from the field.

Adams, a preseason All-HBCUAC selection, is averaging nine points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She leads the team with 10 3-pointers, 11 assists and 10 steals.

Rust has been led by guard Patsy Johnson, and forwards Michaela Payton and Amber Scott.

Johnson is averaging 12.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. She also leads the team with 11 3-pointers.

Payton is averaging 12.5 points and 10.3 rebounds, while Scott is averaging 11.4 points per game.

Men's Preview

Oakwood and Rust enter tonight's game trying to snap losing streaks.

The Ambassadors have lost three in a row and are currently 1-5 and 0-1 in league play. The Bearcats are 0-2 and 0-1.

Oakwood lost 80-63 to Fisk in its HBCUAC opener Thursday night.

The Ambassadors trailed 39-36 at intermission, but were outscored 41-27 in the second half. The difference in the game was 3-point shooting.

Oakwood was only 5-of-22 from beyond the arc, while Fisk was 13-of-27.

Meanwhile, Rust fell 85-73 to Stillman at home.

Jeray Randall and Jordan Bell have played well for the Ambassadors through the early portion of the season.

Bell is averaging 11 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Randall is averaging 10 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He leads the team with 14 3-pointers.

Rust has been led by forward Isiah McCallum, guard Jordin Jackson and forward Jayden Stephens.

McCallum is averaging a team-high 18 points and seven rebounds per game. He is shooting almost 64 percent from the field.

Jackson is averaging 13 points and six assists per game, while Stephens is averaging 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds.
