OAKWOOD PLACES THREE STUDENT-ATHLETES ON 2026 NAIA SPRING SPORT SCHOLAR-ATHLETES LIST

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oakwood University had three student-athletes named to the 2026 NAIA Scholar-Athlete Spring Sports list, officials from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced recently.
 
Softball players Sara Tate and Anna Jones were named to the list along with baseball player Jordan Jennings.
 
Tate, a sophomore second baseman from Tullahoma, Tenn., has a 3.87 GPA in General Studies, while Jones, a senior catcher from Attalla, has a 3.78 GPA in English Language Art.
 
Jennings, a senior outfielder from Greenville, Miss., has a 3.54 GPA in Health Sciences.
 
Each semester, the NAIA Scholar-Athlete list celebrates student-athletes who excel in both academic and athletic arenas. This honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the spring sports who have excelled academically, including baseball, softball, golf, lacrosse, track and field, tennis, flag football, beach volleyball and men's volleyball.
 
To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certification for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year.
