OAKWOOD VISITS NO. 7 FREED-HARDEMAN TONIGHT

HENDERSON, Tenn. – Oakwood University will try to snap its six-game losing streak tonight when it visits No. 7 Freed-Hardeman in a nonconference game at Brewer Sports Center. Tipoff is set for 7.
 
The Ambassadors enter the game 1-17 overall and are coming off a hard-fought 73-68 loss at Wiley College. Meanwhile, the Lions are 17-3. Freed-Hardeman downed Oakwood 77-45 back on Nov. 14 in Huntsville.
 
Oakwood is led by Judelin Prophete and Nicholas Kennard.
 
Prophete leads the team in scoring (11.8), rebounding (7.5), assists (25) and blocks (52).
 
Kennard is averaging 9.9 points per game. He has a team-high 32 3-pointers and is shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Freed-Hardeman has three players averaging in double figures.
 
JJ Wheat and Quan Lax are averaging 14.7 and 12.7 points, respectively. Geraldo Lane, who played locally at Columbia High School, is averaging 12.7 points per game. Lane is shooting almost 70 percent from the field. He is 97-of-139 for the Lions.
